The Rise of the Silver Surfer. A Silver Surfer. A superhero. A surfer. Who's silver.
I guess Stan Lee was completely out of ideas at that point.
Still, this movie is an introduction, of sorts, to another Lee creation. However, it explains so little about the new character, you go away still not knowing who he is. Is he a good guy? Where does he come from and what are his powers? Is he just really good at surfing? Does he enter competitions, or what?
The story lacks cohesion and, although only ninety minutes in length, struggles to hold the attention. It's probably sixty minutes too long. And the narrative is so fragmented, the Brick Guy has to explain exactly what's happening about three-quarters of the way through.
That said, at least it's colourful.
The Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer: 3.5/10.
