The Art of Conversation And The Unspoken Pressures.

by Mr-Malark @ 28 Jul. 2006 - 08:20:39 pm

Why is there an obligation to always close an informal conversation with a little joke? It's like the only way to get away.

And you've got to think of something cos if you don't nail it within the window, the conversation gets all serious and then you're fucked. Cos then you've got to think of something cynical and hard-put-upon to say. Which is even worse, because who wants to hear that? That, what, you hate the government? Okaaaaay...

Man, I don't even like informal chats anymore. There's just too much pressure. I panic.

'So, Jimmy's going to drop that portfolio round' [...damn it Malark, get a joke in, get a joke in] 'on -hey! Your breath smells of cock!'

I can't friggin' believe it, you've sold it flat. You stupid moron, Malark, you've sold it flat. Where was the energy on that last line?
